About Lisa Blue Baron

A trial lawyer and licensed psychologist, Lisa Blue possesses the both the legal and psychological insights needed to represent mesothelioma victims effectively and compassionately. Lisa Blue has focused on environmental and toxic tort law since she began in private practice in 1985 at Baron & Budd, one of the largest environmental law firms in the United States and named one of the 16 most successful plaintiffs' firms in the country according to American Lawyer, 2004. She and husband Fred Baron formed Baron & Blue in 2002, focusing on representing victims of occupational disease and industrial pollution. Fred Baron was one of the first attorneys to uncover the harm caused by the use of asbestos-containing products in 1977. He took on these complicated cases when few other lawyers would. Later he was a leader in challenging class action settlements in which corporations attempted to settle liability for a fraction of what individuals would otherwise be entitled. Twice he led successful battles in the United States Supreme Court to defeat such settlements. As a result, future victims of toxic injuries can no longer have their rights compromised by class action settlements in which they have no voice.
